Questions writers ask

What are the two tracks?

50K Track: for writers determined to write the full Novel November amount, the goal is to write 50,000 words by the end.

Streak Track: for writers with less time, the goal is to write every day in November. A day counts at 100 words or 15 minutes, and you get 2 rest days.

Each track has its own finish line and its own leaderboard. Both are valid goals! Pick the one that fits your month.

How do I log my writing?

Sign in, enter the words you wrote, and press Log it. You can log more than once a day and the tracker adds them up.

If you make a typo, choose Replace this day's total and enter the right number.

What is the gold check?

Add a screenshot of your word count when you log. That day gets a gold ring on your tracker, and when every one of your writing days has a screenshot you get the gold check next to your name on the leaderboard.

You need the gold check to be entered in the finisher drawings. Only the StoryCraft team can see your screenshots.

How do SCA group sprints count?

SCA group sprints are the live writing sessions hosted by StoryCraft Academy. When you write in one, tick I wrote these in an SCA group sprint as you log and enter the code your host shares.

Join 4 or more in November and you are entered in the group sprint drawing.

I forgot to log yesterday. Can I catch up?

Yes. You can log words up to 2 days back, and you can add a screenshot to any earlier day at any time.

Who can see my information?

Other writers see your display name, your progress, and your place on the leaderboard. Your email and your screenshots are never shown to other writers.

Joining includes a free StoryCraft Writers Collective account and our challenge emails. You can unsubscribe at any time. Already a StoryCraft member? Join with the email on your StoryCraft account.

I forgot my PIN. What now?

Message the StoryCraft team and we will reset it. Your logged words stay where they are.
